وَقَدand already أَنعَمتshe bestowed favor بَعدَafter البعادِseparation بِزَورَتيwith a visit to me

وَجَبهَتهاand her forehead الغرّاradiant عَلَيهاupon it
كَواكِبُstars بَينَbetween السالفينthe two sidelocks تَبَدَّتِappeared
And upon her radiant forehead
Stars appeared between her two sidelocks.
فَمرَّتthen she passed عَليهاover it بِالهلالِwith the crescent فَشمتهاthen I beheld her
عَنِaway from الشّمسِthe sun تَحتَbeneath اللّيلِthe night غابَتshe vanished وَخرَّتِand she fell
Then she passed the crescent over it, and I beheld her,
Away from the sun; beneath the night, she vanished and fell.
