Your heart, like your eye, is gladdened by piety.

And your love of piety, like your excellence, is well known.

You journeyed to the best of creation as a visitor,

And you made for God's House, that well-frequented House.

And you visited Ibn Affan, your namesake among humankind,

And from the light of the best of creation, light has enveloped you.

And you returned, borne on the back of safety,

And your sin is submerged in forgiveness and pardon.

May God accept from you what you have done,

And reward you with the best; your reward is held in store.

And may you be repaid what you spent on pilgrimage to His House,

And may your recompense be multiplied, and your reward be abundant.

Take joy in what you have attained, for it is happiness,

And in it your eye is soothed, and you are gladdened.

So may you ever remain accepted, with piety as your trade,

And your profit nearness to God, for you are rewarded.

And your sin is forgiven; I mark the date:

And your pilgrimage is accepted, and your striving appreciated.
