يا حَبَّذا النّرجِسُ مِن حُسنِهِ

فاقَ عَلى الوَردِ وَزَهرِ الأَقاحْ

How lovely the narcissus is! Through its beauty,

It surpassed the rose and the blooms of daisies.

يا شَرفَ النَّرجِس يا فَخره

يا شَرفَ النَّرجِس يا فَخره

إِذ شبّهَت فيه عُيون المِلاح

إِذ شبّهَت فيه عُيون المِلاح

O the narcissus’s honor, O its glory,

For the eyes of beauties were likened to it.
