طَبعُهُ اللّؤمُ وَهوَ فيهِ تَربَّى

طَبعُهُ اللّؤمُ وَهوَ فيهِ تَربَّى

وَهوَ أَمرٌ زَوالُه مُستَحيلُ

وَهوَ أَمرٌ زَوالُه مُستَحيلُ

Baseness is his nature, and in it he was raised.

And it is a condition that cannot disappear.

ما يُعاني تَعويدَهُ غَيرَ لُؤمٍ

ما يُعاني تَعويدَهُ غَيرَ لُؤمٍ

فَهوَ يَشقى وَما إِلَيهِ سَبيلُ

فَهوَ يَشقى وَما إِلَيهِ سَبيلُ

Whoever strives to accustom him to anything but baseness

Toils in misery, with no way to achieve it.
