ماno عاشِقٌlover يَبدوappears بِغَيرِwithout عَلامَةٍa sign
ما عاشِقٌ يَبدو بِغَيرِ عَلامَةٍ
مِثلَsuch as النّحولِemaciation وَمدمَعِand the tears of العشّاقِthe lovers
مِثلَ النّحولِ وَمدمَعِ العشّاقِ
No lover appears without a sign,
such as wasting away and lovers’ tears.
إِنّindeed الحَمائِمَthe doves بِالهَوىfor love اِشتَهَرتbecame renowned لذاtherefore
إِنّ الحَمائِمَ بِالهَوى اِشتَهَرت لذا
قَدindeed ميّزَتthey were distinguished فيamong الطّيرِthe birds بِالأَطواقِby the neck-rings
قَد ميّزَت في الطّيرِ بِالأَطواقِ
Indeed, doves are renowned for love; thus
they have been distinguished among birds by their neck-rings.
