أَيا حُسنَ ثَغرِ الحِبِّ يَأخُذُ بِالحِجى

وَيُسكِرُني نَفحاً وَيَشفي ويُدنِفُ

وَيُسكِرُني نَفحاً وَيَشفي ويُدنِفُ

Ah, the beauty of the beloved’s mouth seizes the mind,

And intoxicates me with fragrance, and heals and sickens.

عَقيقٌ وَياقوتٌ فَخيمٌ وَلُؤلُؤٌ

عَقيقٌ وَياقوتٌ فَخيمٌ وَلُؤلُؤٌ

وَنَكهَةُ مِسكٍ والزُّلالُ وقرقفُ

وَنَكهَةُ مِسكٍ والزُّلالُ وقرقفُ

Carnelian, splendid ruby, and pearls,

And the scent of musk, pure water, and strong wine.
