اِقبلِ العذرَ ولَو أَيقنتَهُ

اِقبلِ العذرَ ولَو أَيقنتَهُ

كذباً يا ذا اللبيبُ الفَطِنُ

كذباً يا ذا اللبيبُ الفَطِنُ

Accept the excuse, even if you are certain it is

a lie, O wise and discerning one.

فَقَبولُ العُذرِ عِندَ الأَلمعي

فَقَبولُ العُذرِ عِندَ الأَلمعي

كَيفَما قَد كانَ أَمرٌ حسنُ

كَيفَما قَد كانَ أَمرٌ حسنُ

For accepting an excuse, in the eyes of the keen-witted,

whatever it may be, is a good thing.
