فَكَم لِسُليمان خَيرٌ عَظيمٌ

وَفي طُرُقِ الخيرِ مِنهُ سَبيل

وَفي طُرُقِ الخيرِ مِنهُ سَبيل

How much immense good Solomon has!

So much great good is Suleiman's!

And among the paths of goodness is a way of his.

And among the paths of goodness is a way from him.

بَنى سَلسَبيلاً بِقَصدٍ جَميلٍ

بَنى سَلسَبيلاً بِقَصدٍ جَميلٍ

يَحِقّ عَلَيهِ الثّوابُ الجزيل

يَحِقّ عَلَيهِ الثّوابُ الجزيل

He built a Salsabil fountain with noble intent,

He built a Salsabil fountain with a noble intention,

For it, rich reward is rightfully due to him.

For which abundant reward is due.

وَأَجرى إِلَيه زُلالاً فُراتاً

وَأَجرى إِلَيه زُلالاً فُراتاً

فَأَصبَحَ فيه يُداوي العليل

فَأَصبَحَ فيه يُداوي العليل

And he channeled into it limpid, sweet water,

And he made clear, sweet water flow to it,

And there he began tending the ailing.

So there it came to heal the ailing.

فَبالغ مَجداً وَأَرّخ بِمَدحٍ

فَبالغ مَجداً وَأَرّخ بِمَدحٍ

فَيا حَبّذا الماءُ فَالسّلسبيل

فَيا حَبّذا الماءُ فَالسّلسبيل

Then excel in glory, and record its date with praise:

So strive for utmost glory, and record the date with praise:

Ah, how delightful the water—for it is Salsabil!

So, how lovely the water—and the Salsabil fountain!
