هاbehold أَحمَدُAhmad الاِسمِin name عادانيbecame my enemy وَمَشيَختيand my standing as a teacher
ها أَحمَدُ الاِسمِ عاداني وَمَشيَختي
لَمnot يَدَّكرهاhe remembered it لِكَونِbecause اللّؤمِbaseness نافخَهُwhat puffs him up
لَم يَدَّكرها لِكَونِ اللّؤمِ نافخَهُ
Behold, Ahmad by name has turned against me, and my standing as a teacher
Ahmad in name, he turned against me and my eldership
he did not remember, for baseness has puffed him up.
He did not remember it due to the blowing of meanness
وَاللّؤمand baseness وَاللَّهِby God لاnot يَخفىis hidden تَفاوتهُits varying degrees
وَاللّؤم وَاللَّهِ لا يَخفى تَفاوتهُ
وَأَلأمُand the basest النّاسِof people مَنwhoever عادىwas hostile to مَشايِخَهُhis teachers
وَأَلأمُ النّاسِ مَن عادى مَشايِخَهُ
And baseness, by God—its varying degrees are plain to see;
By Allah, the difference of meanness is not hidden
and the basest of people is whoever turns against his teachers.
And people's pain is from one who opposes his elders
