You were honored as one from the noblest house, O son of the noblest Prophet.

For in you glory finds exaltation and reverence.

For in you glory is magnified and revered.

نَشَأتَ في مَكَّةَ جاراً لِكَعبَتِها

فَأمّكَ العِزُّ لما عمَّكَ النورُ

You grew up in Mecca, a neighbor to its Kaaba.

Then glory pinned its hopes on you when the light encompassed you.

So honor sought you when the light enveloped you.

سَعيي إليكَ كما أسعى لها حسَنٌ

فللجِوار كما قد قيلَ تأثيرُ

My journey to you, as I journey to her, is beautiful.

My striving toward you, as I strive toward it, is good.

For nearness, as has been said, exerts an influence.

For proximity, as has indeed been said, has an influence.
