يا ربنا أنت القدير — Mufti Fathallah

يا رَبَّنا أَنتَ القَديرْ

أَنتَ اللَّطيفُ وَالخَبيرْ

O our Lord, You are the Almighty.

You are the Gentle One and the All-Aware.

أَيِّد لَنا سُلطانَنا

وَكُن لَهُ أَنتَ النّصير

Strengthen our sultan for us,

And be Yourself his Helper.

جِئناكَ رَبِّ باسِطينْ

أَكفَّنا وَرافِعين

We have come to You, my Lord, spreading

Our palms and raising them,

بِالمُصطَفى مُستَشفِعينْ

فَهوَ الشّفيعُ وَالبشيرْ

Through the Chosen One, seeking intercession,

For he is the Intercessor and the bearer of glad tidings.

جِئناكَ رَبّي نَرتَجي

إِلى حِماكَ نَلتَجي

We have come to You, my Lord, in hope;

To Your sanctuary we flee for refuge.

وَأَنتَ خَيرُ مَن رُجِي

وَأَنتَ مَولانا الكَبيرْ

And You are the best of those in whom hope is placed,

And You are our great Master.

فَيا غَياثَ المُستَغيث

أَنتَ لَنا رَبّي تُغيثْ

So, O Succor of the one who cries for help,

You, my Lord, come to our aid.

بِآدم كَذا بِشيثْ

أَغِثْ أَغِثنا يا مُجيرْ

By Adam, and likewise by Seth,

Give aid—give us aid, O Protector!

بِمَن سِواكَ نَستَجيرْ

وَما سِواكَ مِن يُجير

With whom but You can we seek refuge?

And none but You grants refuge.

أَجِرْ أَجِرْنا يا قَديرْ

وَيا مُجيرَ المُستَجيرْ

Grant refuge—grant us refuge, O Almighty!

And O Protector of those who seek refuge!

بِالنّصرِ وَالفَتحِ القَريبْ

أَنعِمْ عَلَينا يا قَريبْ

With victory and imminent conquest,

Favor us, O Near One.

يا رَبِّ يا نِعمَ المُجيبْ

يا جابِرَ القَلبِ الكَسيرْ

O my Lord, O excellent Answerer,

O Mender of the broken heart.

يا رَبَّنا يا رَبَّنا

أَزِلْ وَفَرِّجْ كَربَنا

O our Lord, O our Lord,

Remove and relieve our anguish.

يا رَبِّ أيِّدْ حِزبَنا

وَاِنصُرهُ يا نِعمَ النّصيرْ

O my Lord, strengthen our party,

And grant it victory, O excellent Helper.

يا رَبِّ خَير النّاصِرينْ

بِالنّصرِ وَالفَتحِ المُبينْ

O my Lord, best of helpers,

With victory and manifest conquest,

أَتحِف أَميرَ المُؤمِنينْ

فَإِنّه نِعمَ الأَميرْ

Honor the Commander of the Faithful,

For he is an excellent commander:

سُلطاننا المُؤيّدُ

مَحمودٌ الممجَّدُ

Our sultan, sustained,

Mahmud, the glorified,

وَهوَ الإِمامُ الأَوحَدُ

وَالفَردُ ما لَهُ نَظيرْ

And he is the peerless imam,

And the unique one, with no equal.

الأَسَدُ الضّرغامُ

وَالبَطلُ الهمامُ

The lion, the fierce lion,

And the valiant hero,

وَالفارِسُ المِقدامُ

وَالمَلِكُ الشّهمُ الشّهيرْ

And the daring horseman,

And the noble, renowned king.

يا رَبِّ وَاِنصُر جُندَهُ

يا رَبِّ أَهلِك ضدَّهُ

And, O my Lord, grant his army victory.

O my Lord, destroy his foe.

يا رَبِّ أَعْلِ سَعدَهُ

وَاِجعَلهُ بِالسّعدِ الكَبيرْ

O my Lord, heighten his good fortune.

And grant him great good fortune.

وَشيِّدَنْ أَركانَهُ

وأَعْلِيَنْ بنيانَهُ

And strengthen his pillars,

And raise his edifice high,

وأيِّدنْ أعوانَهُ

مِنَ الأَميرِ وَالوَزيرْ

And strengthen his supporters,

Among them, the emir and the vizier.

يا رَبَّنا يا مُنتَقِمْ

مِنَ العِدا رَبِّ اِنتَقمْ

O our Lord, O Avenger,

Take vengeance on the foes, my Lord.

أَرسِل لَهُم سَيل العَرِمْ

خُذهم بِهِ رَبِّ القَديرْ

Send upon them the flood of the dam;

Seize them with it, my Lord, the Almighty.

إِلَهنا رَبَّ البَشرْ

اِجعِل بِهم لَنا الظّفرْ

Our God, Lord of humankind,

Grant us victory over them.

خُذهُم إِلَهي لا تَذَرْ

مِنهُم كَبيراً وَصَغيرْ

Seize them, my God; do not spare

Any of them, great or small.

نَرجو بِقهرِ اللَّهِ

يَدنونَ لِلتّناهي

We hope, by God's overpowering might,

That they draw near to their end;

وَغارَة الإلَهِ

نَرجو عَلَيهِم أَن تُغيرْ

And God's onslaught—

We hope You will launch it upon them.

هُم عُصبَةُ الأروامِ

بَغَوْا على الإِسلامِ

They are the band of the Greeks;

They have transgressed against Islam.

يا ربِّ بالحِمامِ

خُذهُم وَكُن أَنتَ المُبيرْ

O my Lord, with death

Seize them, and be Yourself the Destroyer.

قَد نَقَضوا عهودَهم

فَأَهلِكَنْ جنودَهُمْ

They have broken their covenants;

So destroy their troops,

وَصَيِّرَنْ وُجودَهم

إِلى زَوالِهِ يَصيرْ

And make their existence

Come to its end.

رَبِّ اِسقِهِمْ كَأسَ الحتوفْ

مِنَ الرّماحِ وَالسّيوفْ

My Lord, make them drink the cup of death,

From spears and swords.

وَأَفنِ مِنهُمُ الصّفوفْ

وَخُذ بِهِم إِلى السّعيرْ

And annihilate their ranks,

And take them to the Blaze.

قَومٌ أَطاعوا غِيَّهُمْ

فَوالِ ربِّ عِيَّهمْ

A people who obeyed their own perversity;

So prolong, my Lord, their incapacity.

رَبِّ اِجعَلَنْ قَويَّهم

أَضعفَ مِن طِفلٍ صَغيرْ

My Lord, make their strong one

Weaker than a little child.

وَبِالعَذابِ المُهلكِ

رَبّ لَهُم فأَهْلِكِ

And with the deadly torment,

My Lord, then destroy them;

مَنْ مِنهمُ لم يَهلِكِ

بِكَفِّنا اِجعَلهُ أَسيرْ

Whoever among them has not perished,

In our hand, make him a captive.

وَاِهزِم إِلَهي جَمعَهم

وَأَخْلِ مِنهُم رَبعَهم

And rout their host, my God,

And empty their abode of them.

رَبِّ وَعَجِّل قَطعَهم

بِسَيفِ قَهرِكَ المُبيرْ

And, my Lord, hasten their destruction,

With the annihilating sword of Your overpowering might.

وَالِ عَلَيهم الغَضَبْ

أَحِلَّ فيهِمُ العَطَبْ

Bring wrath upon them without cease;

Let ruin descend among them.

مَن رامَ مِنهمُ الهَربْ

إِلى الرَّدى اِجعَلهُ يَسيرْ

Whoever among them seeks escape,

Make him walk toward death.

لِلسّوءِ غَيِّر حالَهمْ

وَقَصِّرَنْ آجالَهمْ

Change their condition for the worse;

And shorten their lifespans;

وَاِجعَلهُمُ وَمالَهُمْ

غَنيمَةً لَنا تَصيرْ

And make them and their wealth

Become booty for us.

رَبِّ اِعكِسَنْ آراءَهُمْ

وَرَمِّلنْ نساءَهم

My Lord, overturn their plans;

And make their women widows;

وَنَكِّسنْ لواءَهم

بذاك أَنعِمْ يا خبيرْ

And cast down their banner.

Favor us with that, O All-Aware.

وَبِالصّلاةِ وَالسّلامْ

أَنعِم عَلى خَيرِ الأنامْ

And with blessings and peace,

Favor the best of creation,

وَالآلِ وَالصّحبِ الكِرامْ

ما طارَ طَيرٌ أَو يَطيرْ

And his noble family and companions,

As long as a bird has flown or shall fly.

رَبِّ وَهَبنا يا سَلامْ

حُسنَ الرّضاءِ وَالخِتامْ

And, my Lord, grant us, O Peace,

Goodly contentment and a good ending;

وَاِجعَل إِلى دارِ السّلامْ

لَنا المَآلَ وَالمَصيرْ

And make the Abode of Peace

Our place of return and final destination.
