وَإِنَّ السّراجَ لَفي البيتِ يبدو

وَإِنَّ السّراجَ لَفي البيتِ يبدو

مُضيئاً عَلى السّقف خَيرَ ضِياءِ

مُضيئاً عَلى السّقف خَيرَ ضِياءِ

And indeed the lamp appears within the house,

The lamp in the house shines bright

shining upon the ceiling with the finest radiance.

Upon the ceiling, shedding better light

فَقَد خِلتُه البدرَ في الأَرضِ قَد

فَقَد خِلتُه البدرَ في الأَرضِ قَد

بَدا فَبَدا نورُه في السّماءِ

بَدا فَبَدا نورُه في السّماءِ

For I imagined it to be the full moon, which on earth had

I compared it to the moon on the ground

appeared, and so its light appeared in the sky.

Then it appeared, its light shone in the sky
