وَكُنْ رَجُلاً في النّاسِ باطِنُهُ يُرى

وَكُنْ رَجُلاً في النّاسِ باطِنُهُ يُرى

كَظاهِرِهِ حَتّى تُعدَّ نَبيها

كَظاهِرِهِ حَتّى تُعدَّ نَبيها

And be a man among people whose inner self is seen

And be a man among people whose inner self is seen

To match his outward self, so that you are deemed distinguished.

As his outward self, so you are considered a prophet

وَإِنْ تَختَلِفْ في ذاكَ كُنتَ مُنافِقاً

وَإِنْ تَختَلِفْ في ذاكَ كُنتَ مُنافِقاً

وَإِنَّ أَخا الوَجهَينِ لَيسَ وَجيها

وَإِنَّ أَخا الوَجهَينِ لَيسَ وَجيها

And if you are inconsistent in that, you are a hypocrite;

And if you differ in that you would be a hypocrite

And indeed, a two-faced man is not honorable.

And indeed the brother of two faces is not honorable
