وَمُهَفهَفٍand a slender, graceful one سحرَbewitched العُقولَthe minds قوامُهُhis figure
وَمُهَفهَفٍ سحرَ العُقولَ قوامُهُ
إِذas يَستَويhe stands upright مِنfrom لينِهِhis suppleness ويميلُand he sways
إِذ يَستَوي مِن لينِهِ ويميلُ
And a slender one whose figure has bewitched minds,
Softly enchanting is his face's grace
as he stands upright and sways in his suppleness.
As gentle and inclined his supple waist
فيin وَجهِهِhis face ماءُwater المَحاسِنِbeauties راكدٌstill
في وَجهِهِ ماءُ المَحاسِنِ راكدٌ
لَولاwere it not for الحَياءُmodesty لَكادَit would almost منهُfrom it يَسيلُflow
لَولا الحَياءُ لَكادَ منهُ يَسيلُ
In his face, the water of beauty lies still;
Still water of beauty fills his visage bright
were it not for modesty, it would almost flow from his face.
But for modesty, it would stream and overflow
