ذَهَبَ البَأسُ عَنكَ ثمّ العَناءُ

ذَهَبَ البَأسُ عَنكَ ثمّ العَناءُ

إِذ مِنَ اللَّهِ قَد أَتاكَ الشّفاءُ

إِذ مِنَ اللَّهِ قَد أَتاكَ الشّفاءُ

Affliction has left you, and then suffering,

Away went distress from you, and then tribulation,

For healing had come to you from God.

Since from Allah relief has come to you,

فَاِتّشَحنا السّرورَ بَعدَ غُمومٍ

فَاِتّشَحنا السّرورَ بَعدَ غُمومٍ

وَاِعتَلانا مِنَ السّرورِ الهَناءُ

وَاِعتَلانا مِنَ السّرورِ الهَناءُ

So we wrapped ourselves in joy after sorrows,

So we clothed ourselves with joy after sorrows,

And bliss born of joy rose over us.

And from that joy we put on delight.

وَتَبَدَّلنا بِالتكدُّرِ صَفواً

وَتَبَدَّلنا بِالتكدُّرِ صَفواً

وَعَلينا أَضحى يَفيضُ الصّفاءُ

وَعَلينا أَضحى يَفيضُ الصّفاءُ

And we exchanged gloom for serenity,

The turbid changed for us into serenity,

And serenity began to overflow upon us.

And upon us the limpid started overflowing.

كُلّما مَسَّنا بِالمَسَرَّةِ ماسَت

كُلّما مَسَّنا بِالمَسَرَّةِ ماسَت

مَعَنا الأَرضُ فَرحةً وَالسّماءُ

مَعَنا الأَرضُ فَرحةً وَالسّماءُ

Whenever it touched us with gladness, there swayed

Whenever joy touches us, the earth rejoices with us,

With us, rejoicing, the earth and the sky.

And the sky with us is happy.

فَلِربّي اللّطيفِ أَبلَغُ حَمدٍ

فَلِربّي اللّطيفِ أَبلَغُ حَمدٍ

وَعَليهِ كَما يَليقُ الثّناءُ

وَعَليهِ كَما يَليقُ الثّناءُ

So to my gracious Lord be the highest praise,

So to my Gentle Lord, I convey profuse thanks,

And to Him the praise that befits Him,

And to Him, as it befits, abundant praise,

حَيثُ قَد مَنّ في شِفائِك فَضلاً

حَيثُ قَد مَنّ في شِفائِك فَضلاً

يا وَزيراً سَمَت بِهِ الوُزراءُ

يا وَزيراً سَمَت بِهِ الوُزراءُ

For He has bestowed His grace in your healing,

Since He has graced, with your recovery, bounty,

O minister through whom ministers have risen high.

O minister, with which ministers have reached loftiness.

ذاكَ نُعماءُ ما حَكَتها عَلينا

ذاكَ نُعماءُ ما حَكَتها عَلينا

بَعدَ الاِسْلامِ مِثلها نعماءُ

بَعدَ الاِسْلامِ مِثلها نعماءُ

That is a blessing never matched for us

That is the blessing, the like of which after Islam,

By any other blessing after Islam.

Has not narrated upon us the like of blessing.

نِعمَةٌ أَحيَتِ المحبّ وَفيها

نِعمَةٌ أَحيَتِ المحبّ وَفيها

قَد أُميتَت بِغَيظِها الأَعداءُ

قَد أُميتَت بِغَيظِها الأَعداءُ

A blessing that revived the lover, and through it

A blessing that revived the loving one, and in it

The enemies were slain by their rage at it.

The enemies were killed by its despise.

فَأُهنّيكَ في كَمالِ شِفاءٍ

فَأُهنّيكَ في كَمالِ شِفاءٍ

حَيثُ زَالَت بِبُرئِكَ الأَدواءُ

حَيثُ زَالَت بِبُرئِكَ الأَدواءُ

So I congratulate you on complete healing,

So I congratulate you on the perfection of recovery,

For, with your recovery, the ailments have vanished.

Whereby with your wellness, maladies have gone away.

وَأُوالي لَكَ الدّعاءَ بِخَيرٍ

وَأُوالي لَكَ الدّعاءَ بِخَيرٍ

كَيفَ وَالنّفعُ قَد حَواهُ الدّعاءُ

كَيفَ وَالنّفعُ قَد حَواهُ الدّعاءُ

And I continually pray for your well-being,

And I promise you the best wishes,

How could I not, when prayer contains benefit?

Since wishes contain benefit within themselves.

سائِلاً مِن رَبّي العظيمِ شِفاءً

سائِلاً مِن رَبّي العظيمِ شِفاءً

لَكَ دَوماً وَتَذهبَ الأسواءُ

لَكَ دَوماً وَتَذهبَ الأسواءُ

Asking my mighty Lord for healing

Asking from my Almighty Lord a lasting recovery for you,

For you always, and for ills to depart,

And calamities to go away.

ثمَّ عُمراً يَطولُ وهوَ مَديدٌ

ثمَّ عُمراً يَطولُ وهوَ مَديدٌ

لَيسَ يَعروهُ في الزّمانِ اِنتِهاءُ

لَيسَ يَعروهُ في الزّمانِ اِنتِهاءُ

Then a life that lengthens and is long-lasting,

Then a prolonged lifetime, of extended duration,

Which no ending overtakes in the course of time,

Which in time has no end.

بِمَعالٍ وَسؤددٍ وَاِرتِقاءٍ

بِمَعالٍ وَسؤددٍ وَاِرتِقاءٍ

لَيسَ يَحكيهِ في الزّمانِ اِرتِقاءُ

لَيسَ يَحكيهِ في الزّمانِ اِرتِقاءُ

With high honors, eminence, and ascent,

With influence, happiness, and elevation,

Which no ascent through time can equal;

Which time cannot speak of any elevation like it.

ناعِمُ العَيشِ رَغده بِاِرتِياحٍ

ناعِمُ العَيشِ رَغده بِاِرتِياحٍ

بِنَشاطٍ وَلا اِعتَراك عياءُ

بِنَشاطٍ وَلا اِعتَراك عياءُ

Enjoying a life of ease and plenty, with contentment,

Easy life, comfortable with tranquility,

With vigor, and may no fatigue befall you,

With vigor, and no distress of weakness.

ما بَدا كَوكَبٌ دُجىً أَو نَهاراً

ما بَدا كَوكَبٌ دُجىً أَو نَهاراً

وَبَدا في الخافِقَينِ مِنهُ ضياءُ

وَبَدا في الخافِقَينِ مِنهُ ضياءُ

As long as a star appears by night or day,

No star has risen in dusk or daylight,

And its light appears in the east and west.

And shone in the horizon with light like it.
