لَم يَخلُ قَومٌ مِن وَجيهٍ لَهُ
يَدٌa hand; a favor عَلَيهِمupon them وَهوَand he is عَينan eye; a notable تعدْis counted
يَدٌ عَلَيهِم وَهوَ عَين تعدْ
No people have lacked a notable who has
No nation lacks a paragon
a hand of favor over them, and is an eye to be reckoned with.
With power over them, yet he counts
صادَقَaccorded with قَوليmy words الحِبِّthe beloved فيin قَولِهِhis saying
صادَقَ قَولي الحِبِّ في قَولِهِ
إِنِّيindeed I لأهلِfor the people of الحُسنِbeauty عَينٌan eye وَيَدand a hand
إِنِّي لأهلِ الحُسنِ عَينٌ وَيَد
