دَعاcalled فَعوّذتهُso I sought protection for him فيin آيةِthe verse of الكُرسيthe Throne
A prophet of beauty, for love to be devoted to him alone,
A prophet of beautiful monotheism
Called; so I invoked the Throne Verse to protect him.
I invoked protection for him in the Verse of the Throne
وَوَجههُand his face الشّمسthe sun فيat نِصفِthe middle of النّهارِthe day بَدتappeared
لاno شَيءَthing فيهاin it كَماas فيin الذِّهنِthe mind وَالحسِّand sensory perception
And his face is the sun appearing at midday;
The sun at midday showed his face
Nothing lies within it, in thought as in perception.
Nothing in it was like what’s in the mind or sense
أَبدىrevealed العِذارُthe cheek-down عَلىupon خَدَّيهِhis two cheeks مُعجِزَةًa miracle
فَأيّدتُso I endorsed قَولَهُhis statement المَقبولَacceptable لِلنّفسِto the soul
The cheek-down revealed a miracle upon his cheeks;
He displayed clear proof on his cheeks
So I endorsed his statement, acceptable to the soul.
So I supported his words, acceptable to the soul
وَقالَand said أَهلُthe people of التّصابيyouthful dalliance إِنindeed مُعجِزَتيmy miracle
أَنْthat أَطلَعَmade rise اللَّهُGod ربّيmy Lord اللّيلَthe night فيin الشّمسِthe sun
And the devotees of youthful dalliance said, “Indeed, my miracle
The sophists said, “My clear miracle
Is that God, my Lord, made night rise in the sun.”
Is that God, my Lord, showed the night in the sun.”
