شاوَرتُكم في أُمورٍ كُنتُ أَطلبُها

شاوَرتُكم في أُمورٍ كُنتُ أَطلبُها

فضاعَ من رأيكم ما كنتُ أبغيهِ

فضاعَ من رأيكم ما كنتُ أبغيهِ

I consulted you about matters I was seeking,

I consulted you about matters I was pursuing.

But through your counsel, what I desired was lost.

So through your counsel, what I sought was lost.

قَد ضَلَّ عَن نَفعِهِ شَخصٌ يُشاوِرُكم

قَد ضَلَّ عَن نَفعِهِ شَخصٌ يُشاوِرُكم

وضلَّ مَنْ كانت العميانُ تهديهِ

وضلَّ مَنْ كانت العميانُ تهديهِ

Surely one who consults you strays from his own good,

A person who consults you has strayed from his own good.

And lost is the one whom the blind lead.

And whoever was guided by the blind went astray.
