تَمَلَّكَtook possession of القَلبَthe heart وَاِستَولىand took control بِراحَتِهِwith his palm
فَكانَso it was كَالصَّعوِlike a sparrow مَقبوضاًclasped بِكَفِّin the hand of صَبيa boy
He took possession of the heart and seized it with his palm.
So it was like a sparrow, clasped in a boy's hand.
وَقَدand indeed عَجِبتُI marveled لِقَلبيat my heart حينَwhen أَمسَكَهُhe held it
مُذْsince صارَit came to be فيin راحَةٍa palm; ease (a pun) قَدindeed صارَit came to be فيin تعَبِdistress
And I marveled at my heart when he held it:
Since it found rest in a palm, it has fallen into distress.
