يَحيَى حَفيدُ علومٍ

يَحيَى حَفيدُ علومٍ

مَن فَهمُهُ صارَ وَحيا

مَن فَهمُهُ صارَ وَحيا

Yahya, grandson of the sciences,

Yaḥyá the grandson of knowledge

whose understanding has become revelation.

He who understands it becomes alive

وَالعِلمُ فيهِ حَياةٌ

وَالعِلمُ فيهِ حَياةٌ

يَرتاحُ مَن فيهِ يَعيا

يَرتاحُ مَن فيهِ يَعيا

And knowledge is life within him;

And knowledge in it is life

he who grows weary in it finds rest.

He who lives in it rests

وَالعَصرُ يَحيا بِعلمٍ

وَالعَصرُ يَحيا بِعلمٍ

وعالِمُ العَصرِ يحيى

وعالِمُ العَصرِ يحيى

And the age lives through knowledge,

And the age lives by knowledge

and the scholar of the age is Yahya.

And the scholar of the age lives
