قَدindeed أَطارَmade fly away الحَبيبُthe beloved ماءَthe water of حَياتيmy life
قَد أَطارَ الحَبيبُ ماءَ حَياتي
وَهوَand it is روحٌa spirit بِهِthrough it حَياةُthe life of النُّفوسِsouls
وَهوَ روحٌ بِهِ حَياةُ النُّفوسِ
The beloved has made the water of my life take flight;
The beloved has flown away with the water of my life
And it is a spirit through which souls live.
He is a soul with which souls come alive
إِنْif يُطِرْهُhe makes it fly away فَلَيسَthen it is not ذاthat بِعَجيبٍat all strange
إِنْ يُطِرْهُ فَلَيسَ ذا بِعَجيبٍ
فَالنَّدىfor the dew طارَflew away مِنfrom شُعاعِthe rays of الشّموسِthe suns
فَالنَّدى طارَ مِن شُعاعِ الشّموسِ
If he makes it fly away, that is no wonder:
It's no wonder he flew away
For dew has flown away from the rays of the suns.
Like dew flown from the rays of the sun
