إِذاwhen وَعَدتَyou promise فَبادِرْthen hasten بِالوَفاءِto fulfillment وَلاand do not
إِذا وَعَدتَ فَبادِرْ بِالوَفاءِ وَلا
تَمطُلْdelay بِوَعدٍin fulfilling a promise فَلَيسَfor it is not المَطلُdelay مَقبولاacceptable
تَمطُلْ بِوَعدٍ فَلَيسَ المَطلُ مَقبولا
When you make a promise, hasten to fulfill it, and do not
When you make a promise, fulfill it without delay
delay fulfilling a promise, for delay is unacceptable.
Do not procrastinate on a promise, for procrastination is not acceptable
فَأَحسَنُfor the best الوعدِof promises ماthat which قَدalready كُنتَyou were مُنجِزَهُfulfilling it
فَأَحسَنُ الوعدِ ما قَد كُنتَ مُنجِزَهُ
وَأَقبحُand the worst الوعدِof promises ماthat which قَدalready كانَwas مَمطولاdelayed
وَأَقبحُ الوعدِ ما قَد كانَ مَمطولا
For the best promise is one you have fulfilled,
The best promise is the one you have already fulfilled
and the worst promise is one whose fulfillment has been delayed.
The worst promise is the one you have prolonged
