يا حُسنَ هَذا السّلسبيل أَلا اِنْقُلَنْ

عَن مائِهِ خَبرَ الشّفاءِ وسلسِلِ

عَن مائِهِ خَبرَ الشّفاءِ وسلسِلِ

How beautiful is this Salsabil! Come, convey

O beauty of this flowing stream, convey

the news of healing in its water, and recount it smoothly.

News of its healing water and cascade,

قَد شادَهُ شَمسُ الوزارَةِ وَالعَلى

قَد شادَهُ شَمسُ الوزارَةِ وَالعَلى

فَرداً سُلَيمان الزّمان المُعتلي

فَرداً سُلَيمان الزّمان المُعتلي

The sun of the vizierate and eminence has built it—

Built by the sun of ministry and glory

peerless Suleiman of the age, the exalted.

As a unique mark of Suleiman's reign,

أَبصِرْ مَحاسِنَهُ وَحِكمَةَ صُنعِهِ

أَبصِرْ مَحاسِنَهُ وَحِكمَةَ صُنعِهِ

وَاُنظُر رَصينَ بِنائِهِ وتأمّلِ

وَاُنظُر رَصينَ بِنائِهِ وتأمّلِ

Behold its beauties and the wisdom of its making;

See its elegance and the wisdom of its making,

and look upon its sturdy construction, and reflect.

Observe the firmness of its structure and ponder,

أَرّختهُ وَبِمائِهِ مِن حُسنِهِ

أَرّختهُ وَبِمائِهِ مِن حُسنِهِ

أَمسى يُصفِّق بِالرّحيقِ السّلسلِ

أَمسى يُصفِّق بِالرّحيقِ السّلسلِ

I recorded its date: such is its beauty that, with its water,

I recorded it, and with its water, in its beauty,

it now splashes with smooth-flowing nectar.

It now murmurs with sweet nectar in the stream.
