يا أَيُها الشَّهمُ مَجداً

يا أَيُها الشَّهمُ مَجداً

يا دُرَّ عقدٍ نظيمِ

يا دُرَّ عقدٍ نظيمِ

O you noble man of glory,

Oh bright star, so full of glory

O pearl of a finely strung necklace,

Oh precious pearl, finely strung

قاطَعتَني يا اِبنَ وُدّي

قاطَعتَني يا اِبنَ وُدّي

بدونِ ذنبٍ عظيمِ

بدونِ ذنبٍ عظيمِ

You have cut me off, O son of my affection,

You have cut me off, oh son of my love

Without a grave offense.

Without any great fault of mine

صِلْني وَلَو بك

صِلْني وَلَو بك

وَاِذكُر لِعَهدي القَديمِ

وَاِذكُر لِعَهدي القَديمِ

Keep ties with me, if only with your presence,

Reunite me, even if only with you

And remember my bond of old.

And remember my ancient pact

وَلا تَكُن بِبَخيلٍ

وَلا تَكُن بِبَخيلٍ

فَأَنتَ عَبد الكَريمِ

فَأَنتَ عَبد الكَريمِ

And do not be miserly,

Do not be miserly

For you are Abd al-Karim.

For you are the servant of the Most Generous
