نَظَرتُI gazed لِعَينِat the disk of الشّمسِthe sun قربَnear غُروبِهاits setting
نَظَرتُ لِعَينِ الشّمسِ قربَ غُروبِها
إِذِas الضّوءُthe light فيهاwithin it دائِرcircling فيهِwithin it زَاهرُهits radiance
إِذِ الضّوءُ فيها دائِر فيهِ زَاهرُه
I gazed at the sun’s disk near its setting,
I looked into the eye of the sun near its setting
As light circled within it, with its radiance within that light.
When the light in it circled, blossoming
وَحينَand when بِهاby it طَحنgrinding النّهارthe day رَأَيتهI saw it
وَحينَ بِها طَحن النّهار رَأَيته
رَأَيتI saw رَحىa millstone of ضَوءٍlight عَلىupon الشّمسِthe sun دائِرَهrevolving
رَأَيت رَحى ضَوءٍ عَلى الشّمسِ دائِرَه
And when I saw the day being ground by it,
And when the day ground with it, I saw it
I saw a millstone of light revolving upon the sun.
I saw a grindstone of light circling the sun
