وَرَوضٍ أَرانا حسانَ الزّهورِ

وَنَرجِسُهُ الغَضُّ أَشهى لِنَفسي

And a garden showed us lovely flowers,

A garden showed us flowers of all kinds

And its fresh narcissus is more pleasing to my soul.

Its tender narcissus most pleasing to my soul

فَكَم فيهِ نَرجِسةٌ قَد تَبدَّت

أَراها هِلالاً يدورُ بِشَمسِ

For many a narcissus blossom has appeared within it:
