قالَت لَدى نَقلِ السّوارِ لِخصرِها
وَالزّندُand the wrist كادَalmost لِضيقِهِbecause of its tightness أَنto يُغلِقهْclose it off
وَالزّندُ كادَ لِضيقِهِ أَن يُغلِقهْ
She said, as she moved the bracelet to her waist,
When she moved the bracelet to her wrist,
while her wrist had nearly blocked its opening, so tight it was:
Its tightness almost made it stick shut.
ضاقَwas too tight السّوارُthe bracelet بِمِعصَميaround my wrist فَنَقَلتُهُso I moved it
ضاقَ السّوارُ بِمِعصَمي فَنَقَلتُهُ
وَجَعَلتُهُand I made it مِنbecause of ضيقِهِits tightness ليfor me منطقَهa girdle
وَجَعَلتُهُ مِن ضيقِهِ لي منطقَه
The bracelet was too tight around my wrist, so I moved it,
The bracelet was too tight on my wrist, so I moved it
and because of its tightness, made it a girdle for myself.
And its tight fit became my belt.
