وَيَومand on a day رَأَيتI saw السّحبَthe clouds فيهِon it تَراكَمَتgathered
وَيَوم رَأَيت السّحبَ فيهِ تَراكَمَت
وَمِنهاand from them أَرىI see حبّgrains الغَمامِof the clouds قَدِindeed اِنصَبّاpoured down
وَمِنها أَرى حبّ الغَمامِ قَدِ اِنصَبّا
And on a day when I saw the clouds gather,
The day I saw the clouds accumulating
And from them I see grains of hail pouring down,
And from them I saw the rain of the clouds pouring down
تَوارَتwas hidden بِهاby them شَمسُthe sun الضّحىof the morning عَنfrom عُيونِنِاour eyes
تَوارَت بِها شَمسُ الضّحى عَن عُيونِنِا
وَرَشَّتand sprinkled عَلَيناupon us السّحبُthe clouds لُؤْلؤُهاtheir pearls الرّطباmoist
وَرَشَّت عَلَينا السّحبُ لُؤْلؤُها الرّطبا
The morning sun was hidden by them from our eyes,
The midday sun hid from our eyes
And the clouds sprinkled their moist pearls upon us.
And the clouds sprinkled on us their moist pearls
