يا بَحرَ عِلمٍ لَهُ في فَضلِهِ اِعتَرَفَت

يا بَحرَ عِلمٍ لَهُ في فَضلِهِ اِعتَرَفَت

كُلُّ الأَفاضِلِ مَع إِذعانِ مُعترفِ

كُلُّ الأَفاضِلِ مَع إِذعانِ مُعترفِ

O sea of knowledge, whose excellence has been acknowledged

O sea of knowledge, in your excellence all virtues acknowledge

By all the eminent, with the submission of one who acknowledges it.

With the admission of he who submits

فَأَعطِني كَفَّكَ اليُمنى لِأَلثِمَها

فَأَعطِني كَفَّكَ اليُمنى لِأَلثِمَها

فَكفّ مِثلكَ تَقبيلي لَها شَرَفي

فَكفّ مِثلكَ تَقبيلي لَها شَرَفي

So give me your right hand, that I may kiss it;

So give me your right hand that I may kiss it

For kissing the hand of one like you is my honor.

For to kiss a hand like yours is an honor to me
