قالَ الكَمالُ للبَها
أختُمْseal لخدِّfor the cheek of الأهيفِthe slender one
أختُمْ لخدِّ الأهيفِ
Perfection said to Splendor:
Perfection said to Elegance
“Seal the cheek of the slender one
I will seal the cheek of the alluring one
خَتْماًa seal يكونُis وافياًcomplete
خَتْماً يكونُ وافياً
بهthrough it القلوبُthe hearts تَشْتَفيfind healing
به القلوبُ تَشْتَفي
with a seal that is complete,
With a seal that will suffice
through which hearts find healing,
With it hearts will yearn
بنُقطةٍwith a dot منof عَنبرٍambergris
بنُقطةٍ من عَنبرٍ
تُنعشُrevives قلبَthe heart of المُدنَفِthe ailing one
تُنعشُ قلبَ المُدنَفِ
with a dot of ambergris
With a drop of ambergris
that revives the ailing one's heart.”
That will refresh the heart of the grieving one
قالَsaid الجَمالُBeauty فَاِكْفُفاso desist, both of you
قالَ الجَمالُ فَاِكْفُفا
خِتامُهُits seal مِسْكٌmusk وفيand in
خِتامُهُ مِسْكٌ وفي
