The blackness of lovers’ eyes is his cheek-down;
The blackness of lovers' eyes is their excuse
drawn in, it passed into the fire of his cheeks.
When drawn to the fire of his cheeks during embrace
فَسالَso it flowed بِهاin it ماءًas water لَقَدindeed قَذَفَتit cast forth بِهِwith it
فَسالَ بِها ماءً لَقَد قَذَفَت بِهِ

لِنَحوِ حَواشيها فَصارَ عِذارا
So it flowed there as water; indeed, the fire cast it
It made waters flow, for it has cast him
toward its edges, and so it became cheek-down.
Towards her sides, so it became an excuse
