لِلكَريمِfor the generous man اِبنِson of الأَسعدِal-As‘ad الشّهمِthe gallant صيتٌrenown
لِلكَريمِ اِبنِ الأَسعدِ الشّهمِ صيتٌ
مَلَأfilled الدّنياthe world وَهوَand it is صيتٌrenown حميدُpraiseworthy
مَلَأ الدّنيا وَهوَ صيتٌ حميدُ
The generous, gallant Ibn al-As‘ad has renown;
For the generous son of As'ad the valiant is a far-reaching fame
It has filled the world—a praiseworthy renown.
It has filled the world, a praiseworthy fame
لانَhe was gentle قَلباًin heart وَجانِباًand in manner مَعَwith عزٍّmight
لانَ قَلباً وَجانِباً مَعَ عزٍّ
وَطِباعاًand in disposition وَإِنَّهُand indeed he is لَشَديدُsurely strong
وَطِباعاً وَإِنَّهُ لَشَديدُ
He is gentle in heart and manner, for all his might,
Because a heart and nature with honor
And in disposition, though he is indeed strong.
And manners, though indeed he is stern
