أشكو إليك صبابتي وتولعي
O you for whose sake I donned the robes of wasting sickness,
I complain to you of my yearning and my burning passion.

Or have you not seen the faces of love’s devotees,
Pale yellow, adorned with the crimson of my tears?

Or had separation scarcely overtaken it
With grief for you, I would have banished it from my ribs.
