O people, the daughters of humankind were not created

for study, the written page, and talk and hearsay.

For study, knitting and gossiping tales

لنا علومٌ ولها غيرُها

لنا علومٌ ولها غيرُها

فعلموها كيفَ نشرُالغسيلْ

فعلموها كيفَ نشرُالغسيلْ

We have our sciences, and she has others;

We have our knowledge, and they have theirs

so teach her how to hang out the laundry.

So teach them how to hang the laundry

والثوبُ والإبرةُ في كفِّها

والثوبُ والإبرةُ في كفِّها

طرسٌ عليهِ كلُّ خطٍّ جميلْ
