Love afflicts me, if you did not know.
O sister of the maidens of the valley, if you do not know of passion,
O sister of the bān trees on the hills, show compassion.
Have pity, o you who are unaware of love's tribulation.

In your faith, that you may do what's right.

For it is best that you show sympathy.
