أماis it not آنَthe time has come لهذاfor this المُعرضِthe one who turns away
أما آنَ لهذا المُعرضِ
الغضبانَthe angry one أنto يرضىrelent
الغضبانَ أن يرضى
Is it not time for this aloof,
Though this show of anger may not please,
angry one to relent?
My heart has cast its gaze on it,
رمتْstruck عينيmy eye الفؤادَthe heart بهِwith him
رمتْ عيني الفؤادَ بهِ
فبعضيso part of me قاتلslays بعضاanother part
فبعضي قاتل بعضا
My eye struck my heart with him,
And I'm torn inside fighting myself,
so one part of me slays another.
Never has the sun risen to such turmoil on earth.
وماand not أصبحَhe became مثلَlike الشمthe sun (first part)
وما أصبحَ مثلَ الشم
سِcompletion of 'the sun' حتىuntil فتنَhe bewitched الأرضاthe earth
سِ حتى فتنَ الأرضا
And he did not become like the sun
If it's fated I meet my end this way,
until he had bewitched the earth.
Then it was meant to be.
فإنso if يقضىjudgment is passed عليَّagainst me بهِthrough him
فإن يقضى عليَّ بهِ
فقدْthen indeed قُدِرَit was ordained أنthat يقضىjudgment be passed
فقدْ قُدِرَ أن يقضى
So if I am doomed through him,
When the healer takes a life,
it has been ordained that I be doomed.
The blame is not on the sick.
ولستُand I am not إذاwhen الطبيبُthe physician جنىdid wrong
ولستُ إذا الطبيبُ جنى
أرىI see الذنبَthe blame علىon المرضىthe patients
أرى الذنبَ على المرضى
And when the physician does wrong, I do not
consider the patients to blame.
