صفرتيmy yellow pallor فيهِin it فاكتسىso it took on منsome of سماتيmy features
I set her face opposite mine, and there appeared
When my face met hers, it lit up,
My yellow pallor in it, so it took on my features.
My paleness imprinted itself upon her features,
وبدتْand she appeared ليto me صفراًpale yellow فخلتُso I imagined فؤاديmy heart
خبأتْshe had hidden فيهِin it جمرةَthe ember الوجناتِof the cheeks
And she appeared pale yellow to me, so I imagined my heart
And she appeared to me pale-faced. So I hid
Was where she had hidden the ember of her cheeks.
The burning coals of my love in my heart.

فيin انطباعِthe reflection الألوانِof the colors للمرآةِfor the mirror
Tell whoever found fault with her face: what sin
Say to those who find fault with her face, what sin lies
Does a mirror commit in reflecting colors?
In the mirror's reflection of colors?
