باللهِby God ياO سحرَmagic العيونِthe eyes ماwhat ترىdo you see
باللهِ يا سحرَ العيونِ ما ترى
قلبيmy heart غداbecame منby عينهاher eye مسحوراbewitched
قلبي غدا من عينها مسحورا
By God, O magic of the eyes, what do you see?
My heart has become bewitched by her eye.
ذاتُshe who has محيًّاa countenance هوit is فيناamong us جنةٌa paradise
ذاتُ محيًّا هو فينا جنةٌ
قدindeed خلقتwere created فيهاin it العيونُthe eyes حوراhouris
قد خلقت فيها العيونُ حورا
She has a countenance that is a paradise among us,
where eyes have been created as houris.
صيرنيmade me مذsince حجبوهاthey veiled her كالذيlike one who
صيرني مذ حجبوها كالذي
أُخرِجَwas expelled منfrom جنتهِhis paradise مدحوراdisgraced and banished
أُخرِجَ من جنتهِ مدحورا
Since they veiled her, it has made me like one who
was expelled from his paradise in disgrace.
