    Everyone says, “We have suffered,”

and for each of us, yesterday has passed.

This one shifts the blame onto that one,

yet each one's bane is his own kind.

And some of us rise above it all,

so not a sound of them is heard.

They grieve for those not of their own people,

while their own kin's death is their wedding.

    Whoever is another's molar—

his own molar does not concern him.

By God, if the East had sense,

its sun would hide from it.
