And I have, among humankind, a gazelle.

A gazelle of companionship in me

I shot at him, and he shot at me.

جرى معي في هواهُ

كما جرى بي زماني

He went along with me in his love,

فنمتُ كيما أراهُ

ونامَ كيلا يراني

So I slept that I might see him,
