قالتْ سألتُ الورد عن وجنتي

يوماً ووجناتي عن الوردِ

يوماً ووجناتي عن الوردِ

She said, “I asked the roses about my cheek

Roses, I asked about my cheeks

one day, and my cheeks about the roses.

One day, and my cheeks about roses

فقالَ لي خدي أنا وردةٌ

فقالَ لي خدي أنا وردةٌ

ثمَّ انتمى الوردُ إلى خدي

ثمَّ انتمى الوردُ إلى خدي

So my cheek said to me, ‘I am a rose’;

It said to me, my cheek is a rose

then the roses traced their lineage to my cheek.”

Then the roses belonged to my cheek
