وقلبيَّ مما تمزَّقَ أضحى

كأنَّ عليهِ يمرُّ القطارْ

كأنَّ عليهِ يمرُّ القطارْ

And my heart, so torn apart, now feels

And my heart which was torn apart has become

As though the train were passing over it.

As if a train is passing over it

بربكَ ماذا فعلتَ بنا

وما لكَ عندي ذوي الحبِّ ثارْ

وما لكَ عندي ذوي الحبِّ ثارْ

By your Lord, what have you done to us?

For God's sake what have you done to us

Yet you have no blood-debt to avenge against me—against those who love.

And why do you have vengeance against lovers

قتلتَ وأحرقتَ حتى القطار

يسيرُ وفي قلبهِ منكَ نارْ

You have killed and set ablaze—even the train
