تشكوlament إليكِto you مدامعيmy tears وجديmy longing
Pass over us, O east wind of Najd;
Pass by us, oh morning breeze of Nejd
My tears lament my longing to you.
And convey my tears and my love's ardour
أمسيتُI have reached evening والأشواقُand the longings مضنيةٌexhausting
عنديI have منof الأشواقِlongings ماwhat عنديI have
Evening has found me, with longing wearing me down;
I've become restless, my longing so immense
I bear all the longing that I bear.
More intense is my yearning, longing so immense

My eyes flow within their sockets,
My eyes flow with tears down my cheeks
And my tears run down my cheek.
And my tears flow down upon my cheek

وكأننيand as though I were فيin جنةِthe garden of الخلدِeternity
I cannot forget when the days brought us together,
I can't forget, though days bring us together
And it was as though I were in the Garden of Eternity.
As if I'm in the eternal paradise

She lamented love as I did; and when
She complains like I complain of passion and if
I confided in her, she revealed her feelings as I did.
I confide in her, she responds as I confide

The anguish of rejection passed through my heart.
The pain of estrangement weighs upon my heart

And when I cry, her tears flow down
As dew flows over roses in the morning.
Flowing down like dew drops on roses at dawn

My heart, I have no desire for life,
My heart - and life holds no more hopes
So long as you, my heart, remain aflame.
As long as you remain lit, O my heart

Does everyone who loves die of sorrow,
Can it be that all who fall in love die of sorrow
Or have I alone been afflicted with this grief?
Or have I alone felt this sorrow so immense

Those graceful gazelles did after my departure.

If only my yearning after her made a difference

The remoteness of her abode, while she squandered my love.
After we parted, she forgot my love

After I lost him, except for losing him

One day, you may return them to me
