إذا ما استشارك ذو كربةٍ

إذا ما استشارك ذو كربةٍ

فضيق عليه طريق الأمل

فضيق عليه طريق الأمل

If someone in distress asks your advice,

When one in distress seeks your counsel

then narrow for him the path of hope;

And the path of hope seems narrow to him

فإنَّ النُّفوسَ يؤملنَ حتَّى

فإنَّ النُّفوسَ يؤملنَ حتَّى

ليدَخُلنَ سُمَّ الخياطِ الجَملْ

ليدَخُلنَ سُمَّ الخياطِ الجَملْ

for souls hope so much that

Souls do aspire until

they would even put a camel through a needle's eye.

They enter the eye of the needle's hole
