فانتشىand so grew intoxicated منهُfrom it عِطْفُside كلevery أديبِman of letters
The magic of your eyes flowed into my love poetry.
The magic of your eyes overflowed in my youth
And every writer's frame grew drunk on it.
And from it grew the tenderness of every writer

And it made its way to hearts like the glad tidings
Walking to the hearts like the good news
of Joseph, when they made their way to Jacob.
Of Joseph when he walked to Jacob

It draws the yearning lover toward you, as wine sways
The longing pulls me towards you shaking the sleeve
one reveler's side toward another reveler.
Of kindness towards kindness

So be proud as your beauty pleases; it is not
So wonder how your beauty desired what
strange to be haughty when love wills it.
Puzzlement desired when infatuation willed with marvel

And stain your glance with hearts, for we
And redden with your glances the hearts for we
love no sword unless it is bloodstained.
Do not love the swords except when bloodied

And reap as you wish in us
and as coquetry pleases in tormenting me.
And as it appeared to the flirt in my torment

and leave me to whatever my watcher wills.
And let me be and whatever my keeper wills

All the suffering that souls abhor
All that souls dislike of harm
is dear if it touches them from a beloved.
Is a beloved if touched by a beloved

And enemies of worries and people of grief

Show her the hearts maybe

She will be shy of her acts with the hearts

Do not be miserly, O gazelle, if you revive
Do not be stingy, o gazelle, if you give life
a lover who wandered among white sandhills and dunes,
To a passionate lover lost in the plains and hills

I am Job in my love for you; where, then, is the patience
I am Job in your love so where is the patience

That makes worries easy on Job

And my heart is in your comfort and best
for the ailing one to be with the physician.
That the ailing be with the physician
