وذو اللبِّ وقاف لدى كلِّ مشكلٍ

وذو اللبِّ وقاف لدى كلِّ مشكلٍ

ولا خيرَ في التقليدِ تفهّما

ولا خيرَ في التقليدِ تفهّما

And one of sound judgment pauses before every perplexing matter;

He who is wise pauses at every problem,

And there is no good in imitation—seek to understand.

There is no good in blind imitation, try to understand.
