ولا تسأل المالَ عن آمرئٍ
أصابَattained اليسارةprosperity منthrough كدِهِhis toil
أصابَ اليسارة من كدِهِ
And do not question wealth about a man
And do not ask for money from a man
who attained prosperity through his own toil;
who attained prosperity through his toil;
ولكنbut سلِask for المالَmoney عندfrom امرئٍa man
ولكن سلِ المالَ عند امرئٍ
إذاif أورثwas bequeathed المالَwealth عنfrom جدهِhis grandfather
إذا أورث المالَ عن جدهِ
but question wealth when it rests with a man,
but ask for money from a man
if it came down to him from his grandfather.
if he inherited wealth from his grandfather.
