When a calamity befalls me, I turn for its relief

To my Creator, rather than to any close friend.

And indeed, whoever does without others' help, even if impoverished,

Trusting in God, is not to be blamed.

Behold, many a hardship has been followed by ease,

And many a flood of anguish has been lifted from one suppressing grief.

Such is life: two days—a day of misery and hardship,

And a day of joy and bliss for a young man.
