أتاك يا بن كرام القوم يأتلف

Good tidings! Here are hopes fulfilled, bounty, and honor.

Good tidings, for this is the wish, merit and honor

It has come to you, O son of noble folk, in harmony.

That came to you, O son of the generous people who harmonize

هنّيت هنّيت بالعرس السعيد فلا

هنّيت هنّيت بالعرس السعيد فلا

بؤس هناك ولا ضيم ولا كلف

بؤس هناك ولا ضيم ولا كلف

Congratulations, congratulations on this happy wedding—may there be no

I congratulated, I congratulated for the blessed wedding, so no

Misery there, no oppression, and no hardship.

Misery is there, nor oppression, nor burden

وافاك السعد والأفراح مقترناً

وافاك السعد والأفراح مقترناً

وقد غدوت بثوب العزّ تلتحف

وقد غدوت بثوب العزّ تلتحف

Good fortune and joys have come to you together,

Happiness and joy came to you combined

And now you wrap yourself in the robe of glory.

And you have become clothed in the garment of honor

عرسٌ سعيدٌ اتى بالبشر متشحاً

عرسٌ سعيدٌ اتى بالبشر متشحاً

وبالمهابة والإجلال متصف

وبالمهابة والإجلال متصف

A happy wedding has come, robed in gladness,

A blessed wedding that came with good news dressed

And endowed with majesty and reverence.

In awe and veneration characterized

أنشأه ذو الفضل والإحسان سالم

أنشأه ذو الفضل والإحسان سالم

من كل الكرام له بالفضل تعترف

من كل الكرام له بالفضل تعترف

Salim, a man of bounty and benevolence, brought it about,

Established by the one of kindness and benevolence Salim

Whose excellence all noble people acknowledge.

Whom all the generous people acknowledge for his merit

ذاك ابن سلطان سلطان البلاد

ذاك ابن سلطان سلطان البلاد

فلا يقاس بالدر أصداف ولا خزف

فلا يقاس بالدر أصداف ولا خزف

That is the son of Sultan, sultan of the land;

That is the son of the Sultan, the sultan of the countries

So neither shells nor earthenware can be compared with pearls.

So he cannot be compared to pearl shells or pottery

من معشرهم كرام الناس همتهم

من معشرهم كرام الناس همتهم

نيل المعالي ففيها العزّ والشرف

نيل المعالي ففيها العزّ والشرف

From their clan come noble people, whose ambition is

Among their group, the people's generous ones, their ambition

To attain lofty ranks, for therein lie glory and honor.

Is to attain the heights, wherein lies honor and merit

همو الذخيرة إن جار الزمان غدوا

همو الذخيرة إن جار الزمان غدوا

للناس بحراً فمنه الناس تغترف

للناس بحراً فمنه الناس تغترف

They are the treasure; if time turns cruel, they become

They are the treasure, if the days of time pass they become

A sea for the people, from which the people draw.

For people an ocean from which people draw water

فهذه نعمة عظماء قد وردت

فهذه نعمة عظماء قد وردت

من المهيمن فاشكرها ولا تقف

من المهيمن فاشكرها ولا تقف

So this is a great blessing that has come

Cares are lifting from us by God's grace.

Our worries by God's grace are uncovered

ريم هناك بعين زانها الوطف

ريم هناك بعين زانها الوطف

May God preserve the little moments of joy—how many

God has observed the times of joy, so how many

Gazelles are there, their eyes adorned with long, thick lashes!

Pleasant times are there, adorned by affection

وهاك تهنئة غرّا مسربلة

وهاك تهنئة غرّا مسربلة

أعلى المعاني لديها الله يعترف

أعلى المعاني لديها الله يعترف

And here is a radiant congratulation for you, robed in

And here is a sincere congratulation

The loftiest meanings, which God acknowledges in it.

The highest meanings, for which God bears witness

فالله يمنحك النسل الكثير ولا

فالله يمنحك النسل الكثير ولا

يطرق لبابك لا حزن ولا أسف

يطرق لبابك لا حزن ولا أسف

So may God grant you abundant offspring, and may neither

Sorrow nor grief knock at your door.

Sorrow or regret may knock on your door

ودم بعزٍ رعاك الله سالمٌ ما

غنّى الحمام وما الأيام تختلف

And remain in glory—may God protect you, Salim—as long as

And live in honor, may God protect you safe
