May God protect you, restore you to reverence
May kindness surround you; may honor adorn you.
Kindness has embraced you, you are adorned with glory
لمdid not يعقنيhinder me عنfrom العيادةvisiting the sick شغلan occupation
لم يعقني عن العيادة شغل
أوand could...? فيكمregarding you تعوقنيhinder me الأشغالduties
أو فيكم تعوقني الأشغال
No occupation kept me from visiting you in illness.
No busyness has prevented me from visiting
And could duties hinder me where you are concerned?
Or any matters with you impede me
حسبكenough for you العلمknowledge بالحقائقof the facts عذراas an excuse
حسبك العلم بالحقائق عذرا
فيهin it ينفىis ruled out الإجحافunfairness والإخلالand neglect
فيه ينفى الإجحاف والإخلال
Knowledge of the facts is excuse enough for you;
Sufficient is your knowledge of the truth as an excuse
in it, unfairness and neglect are ruled out.
It denies injustice and violation
إنindeed هذاthis الرقيمthe letter فيهin it شفاءhealing
إن هذا الرقيم فيه شفاء
لكليناfor both of us وليكفand let ... suffice هذاthis المقالthe statement
لكلينا وليكف هذا المقال
Indeed, this letter holds healing
Indeed this missive contains a cure
for us both; and let these words suffice.
